Job Description: The Violence Prevention Institute (VPI) at Tulane University is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow who can support ongoing research projects and conduct original research on a wide range of topics in violence prevention. The VPI is an interdisciplinary and equity-focused hub focused on supporting communities to foster transformative research, training, and advocacy to address systemic, structural, and interpersonal violence.

This is a 2-year position with a desired start date of July 1, 2024 or sooner. The overarching goal of the position is to help the postdoctoral fellow launch a successful academic career through mentored research and professional development, training in research, communications, and community and policy engagement, and opportunities to pursue internal and external funding. The Postdoctoral Fellow will have opportunities to contribute to the design and implementation of research projects, conduct primary and secondary data analyses, lead manuscripts and presentations, and collaborate on and develop grant proposals.

The fellow is expected to spend about 25% of time on independent research and about 75% of time VPI projects the first year of the fellowship and year two a 50/50 split. The fellow will receive a competitive stipend, annual allowances for travel and research, and workspace on Tulane’s campus.
