The purpose of this NCIPC Mentored Research Scientist Development Award (K01) is to provide support for an intensive, supervised (mentored) career development experience in cross-cutting violence prevention or opioid overdose prevention research leading to research independence. NCIPC supports K01 grants to help ensure the availability of an adequate number and diversity of highly trained scientists to address critical public health research questions to prevent violence and injury. Applicants are expected to identify an experienced mentor who will supervise the proposed career development and research experience. The proposed research should be consistent with the applicant's current level of research experience and expertise, and should focus on cross-cutting violence prevention or opioid overdose prevention.
