Please be reminded, in partnership with CDC, APHA will be hosting the NVDRS Surveillance Academy for free on Oct. 24. This training course, designed for researchers and others interested in NVDRS data, will provide basic information about the NVDRS Restricted Access Database (RAD) and how its data may be accessed and used for research. The academy will also provide general insight about the system and its functions. Registration closes on Oct 19.
APHA will be releasing a competitive RFA next month for the NVDRS New Investigator Award and this program is geared towards anyone who has graduated within the past 5 years with a doctoral degree, is a "new" researcher , and doing work in injury and violence prevention. It provides a $5000 stipend to help support analysis of the NVDRS RAD data. If you're interested in applying for this program, please consider attending the NVDRS Surveillance Academy on Oct 24 .
