Over Thanksgiving, I was reflecting on what SAVIR has achieved so far in 2022. I felt grateful to SAVIR members, colleagues, and committee members for the many achievements we have made together.

SAVIR awards recognize and celebrate members’ significant contributions to the field of injury and violence prevention. These awards are acknowledged at the annual conference. Nominate someone today!

Planning is well underway for the upcoming SAVIR conference. Keynote speakers and panels are being secured, abstracts are under review, and social events are being planned. Applicants will be notified regarding the status of their proposals by Dec 20, 2022. Registration for the conference is scheduled to open in January.

The SAVIR Executive Committee and Board of Directors is pleased to announce the establishment of a Council of Past Presidents to advise on issues of importance to SAVIR’s long-term goals and organization management. This council, made up of 14 past SAVIR presidents, will be invaluable to advancing SAVIR’s mission and providing wisdom to a new generation of scholars.
