Kempe Interdisciplinary Research Institute

The Kempe Center is excited to host our annual one-week in-person Summer Interdisciplinary Research Institute from August 22, 2022 to August 26, 2022. Our Institute will feature intensive teaching and dedicated mentoring by national and international experts. One of our primary goals is to expand the pool of scholars trained to conduct child maltreatment research. This new course, developed by the AAP is designed to help build health care practitioner counseling skills in firearm injury prevention. The course contains 6 provider - patient scenarios, as well as educational materials focused on demonstrating how health care providers can deliver firearm injury prevention counseling in the office setting. It really is a comprehensive training that takes about 45 minutes. Anyone can take part in the course - it is great additional training for any of us. Plus, you can receive MOC Part 2 credit!
