Each year in April, SAVIR welcomes new leadership and acknowledges the service of injury and violence prevention researchers that have contributed to the success of the organization. This year, please join me in congratulating our incoming leadership: President Elect, Dr. Henry Xiang, Treasurer, Dr. Kathleen Carlson, and Board Members, Dr. Cassandra Crifasi, Dr. Sara Jacoby, Ms. Jennifer Tran (Member-at-Large), Dr. Avanti Adhia (Transitional Member), and Ms. Kelsey Conrick (Student Member). We are excited to have their expertise and guidance as the organization moves forward and encourage you to introduce yourselves to them.

The SAVIR Science and Research Committee fosters relationships between SAVIR and research communities, and recommends injury and violence research priorities. This committee is also responsible for shaping the sessions of the SAVIR annual conference. Here we highlight more about this committee and their work.

An opportunity is available with the Division of Violence Prevention, within the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, Field Epidemiology and Prevention Branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention located in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is hosting three online workshops for public health professionals in the next few months. The workshop presenters have been featured in media outlets around the world and have created local and national outreach campaigns.
