SAVIR E-News: February 2021

Reflections from the President - February 2021

2021 is a year of opportunity and potential for the field of injury and violence prevention and for SAVIR. The tragedies and challenges of 2020 exposed racism, highlighted inequities, and underscored the need for strong, science-based public health leadership and interventions. It also inspired many of us to examine how we, as injury and violence prevention researchers, could improve our approaches, methods and dissemination of findings in order to better address systemic racism and inequities. I am excited to see how these and other issues of import to the field are being addressed at the local and national levels, and across the globe. The 2021 SAVIR Virtual Conference will provide a great opportunity to do so.
