Summer Institute Scholarship Information

John F. Finklea Scholarship

Through the generosity of the John F. Finklea Fellowship from the CDC's National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, two students will receive scholarship money that can be applied to tuition, room and board, and travel expenses to the 2018 Advanced Summer Institute, “Using Evidence in Practice" (not to exceed $1,750 per student). The Finklea Scholarship is open to all attendees. Scholarship recipients are expected to attend and participate in the entire Summer Institute.


To be considered for a scholarship, please submit a curriculum vita or resume, and a brief statement describing why you want to attend the Institute and how it will help your career in injury prevention (500 word maximum) to:

The application deadline is May 22, 2018. A committee of Institute faculty will make selections and all applicants will be notified if they are an awardee or not by May 25, 2018. To reserve your spot in the course, you may register for it without paying until you receive notification.
